Surprising Lunch Time

About two weeks ago, an enjoyable Hinamatsuri was held at Commons on our campus. We listened to interesting speeches and school children's songs. I also saw beautiful Hina Dolls. After the ceremony, MFWI students ate lunch with the school children who attended. At that time, I saw a surprising scene. Many American students only ate snacks like potato chips. I was very astonished because Japanese hardly eat snacks during a lunch.
Amazing school lunch!!

Also, I was surprised when I visited elementary school in order to meet pen pals. I ate lunch with them, too. Then they ate chicken strips and drank chocolate milk. Before visiting the school, I thought there would be some vegetables for the school lunch. However, there were not vegetables at all. Japanese school lunches have good nutritional balance, so there are always vegetables.

I think it is necessary for American school lunches to improve,
otherwise it will adversely affect the health of American children.
