A Lot of New Things

I had a marvelous time on the East Coast trip. It was my first time to go to Boston and Washington D.C. Both of them were much better places than I thought. The food was good, especially the lobster roll which I ate at Quincy market in Boston. We visited a lot of important places connected to American history. I had learned about these places we visited during the trip beforehand in class, so I was very excited to visit these places. I really enjoyed learning American history. I was impressed by all of the places I visited. However, Freedom Trail in Boston, Smithsonian Museum, and Lincoln Memorial in Washington D.C. were especially memorable for me.

First, I enjoyed and learned a lot at Freedom Trail. Freedom Trail is a walk through some historic areas of Boston. We went to Quincy Market where there were many restaurants and unique gift shops. Also, there were some street musicians. The atmosphere was very lively and enjoyable. We had a great time there. Then, we visited to The Old North Church. It was very beautiful both inside and outside. We listened to the story of this church and Paul Revere. I was happy to come to this important and historical place.

Second, I enjoyed very much at The Smithsonian Museums. This is the world’s largest museum and a famous movie Night Museum 2 was filmed there. I visited three museums, The Air and Space Museum, The Natural History Museum, and The American History Museum. What I enjoyed most was The Air and Space Museum, because there were many kinds of airplanes and rockets. I saw Japanese airplane called Zero-sen. Also, I saw Hope Diamond which is very famous. It was very beautiful. I think I’m lucky to have seen it. Smithsonian Museums contains millions of items, so it was impossible to see all of the items but I really enjoyed my visit there.

Finally, I was happy to visit Lincoln Memorial. The view from there was very good and I could see Washington Monument. Abraham Lincoln is said to be the greatest father of America. He tried to release slaves and he did a lot of things to end the civil war. There were many people from overseas at The Lincoln Memorial, so I felt that he is still very famous and important. Martin Luther King, Jr. gave his “I Have a Dream” speech from the steps of the Lincoln Memorial. I was really happy to visit this important and historical place.

In conclusion, I was impressed especially at Freedom Trail, The Smithsonian Museums, and Lincoln Memorial. I could learn many things through this trip. A lots of things were new for me so I got new knowledge and ideas. It was the great experience to go to Boston and Washington D.C. I really want to visit these two places again.
