Last Monday, my group had a birthday party for Mika, our group member, at Japanese Cultural Center. We didn't know what kind of birthday party we would have. Only our RA knew what we were going to do. When the party started, we were very surprised and excited. We said, "What very big foods!" We haven't seen such big foods ever in Japan.
First, we ate pizza. But, it is not common pizza. It was very giant pizza! We were very surprised. It was third the size of ordinary pizza. It was various kinds of pizza, for example, cheese and salami sausages, cheese and bacon and pineapple, or cheese and pepper. I ate all kinds of pizza. It was very delicious! My favorite pizza is cheese and bacon and pineapple pizza. It tasted spicy and sweet, but my friends didn't like it. Most Japanese people don't like pineapple pizza. It is strange for Japanese to mix spicy taste and sweet taste. I haven't eaten this in Japan before, but I came to like this pizza. I want to eat it again.
Then, our RA brought us a big birthday cake. She made it for us, so we were also surprised and glad. We lit candles first and then sang a birthday song to Mika. And, we gave birthday presents and birthday letters to our friend. She looked very happy and amazed. Then we ate birthday cake. It was very tasty. Our RA is good at cooking. After we ate dinner in Commons at night, we also ate pizza and cake, so we were very full. But it was a very pleasing birthday party to us.
