What Makes Me Strong?

Time flies so fast. There is just one month left for me in Spokane. I am enjoying my American life so much with my marvelous friends and I have had great experiences with them. But, before I came here, I had no confidence in my English ability and living in a dorm with many people. Then, what makes me strong and happy?

marvelous friends with Ron
First, my friends. I always feel happy when I talk with my friends. We sometimes faced problems, but we overcame them by cooperating together. If someone has trouble, we talk about it together to figure it out. Also, I have friends who have high motivation to improve English skill, so I am motivated by them. In the classes, all teachers speak English all the time. My friends ask questions to the teachers and discuss many kinds of topics actively. At first, I was so surprised because I had never taken any classes like that. I was worried whether I could catch up with the classes every day, but my friends taught me when I didn't understand what a teacher said and encouraged me to improve my ability. They helped me many times. Also, they are so fun!!!! They make me laugh and comfortable. I'm proud of my friends so much.

wonderful host family
Second, my family. Whenever I call them, they relax me, relieve my worries, and tell me to work harder and enjoy my life. Before coming here, I sometimes forgot how much I owed to my parents because I lived with them all the time. I appreciate the value of my family and how they give me wonderful power even if we are apart from each other. Also, I have another one, my host family. They taught me American culture and helped me have wonderful experiences. Every time I stayed at their house, we talked a lot. They also took me to many places which I didn't experience in Japan, such as a potluck party and a church. They are so kind and friendly that I feel I have another family. Two families supported me.

I have matured as well as improved my English skill through American life because many people helped me all the time. I'm happy to have good friends and great families. I want to enjoy my school life more and more by the time I leave Spokane.
