Are you here only to learn English?

Many audience!!
It is considered that the purpose of studying abroad is basically to learn English. Do you think it is the only reason you came here? I think I can study other important things from my experience. Studying at MFWI is a little different from other overseas study programs. Here, we have to live with Japanese friends. This is a good point of this program. Below is what I learned during this semester other than English.

First, I felt achievement. I practiced Yosakoi dance for Japan Week. The practice started about 1 month ago before the day of the performance. I was the leader of our team. I taught the dance to my members, and pulled my team together. We created some parts by ourselves. It was very difficult because I had never made a dance, and neither had the other members too. We looked up the on Youtube, and researched it. Thanks to everyone's cooperation, making dance went well. On the day of the performance, many friends of mine came to see our dance. When I finished dancing, I almost shed tears of achievement. I'm proud to tell everyone that we were successful and I am really happy about the performance.

Wonderful friends!
Second, I learned aggressiveness. During this study abroad program, I actively joined as a volunteer a lot of events, such as Muko News, Ensemble, Yosakoi dance, an a cappella singing club, and so on. I practiced Yosakoi dance every Monday, Wednesday, and Friday. Now, I practice with an a cappella group every Monday, Wednesday, Friday. Also, I have to attend to leader meeting every Monday because I am a group leader. Although these activities have made me busy, I can learn a lot of things which I can't learn in the classes. Of course I sometimes feel these activities are troublesome or I would rather do homework in my house. However, I have decided to do these by myself.  I have developed a strong responsibility. Moreover, my life become brilliant thanks to these activities. I met up with excellent friends. Being aggressive, I gained a lot of important things.

I realized that I came here not only to learn English but also to learn other thing by communicating with people. My English skill has improved much more than ever before. And beyond this, my social skill and accommodativeness has matured. These experience will be my treasure and livelihood.
