Huge Safeco Field |
I traveled across Washington State by bus ,and spend 3 days in Seattle and Tacoma. I really had a good time with my friends. The natural beauty was beyond description. For example, I enjoy viewing in Columbia River. It was so huge and I was impressed. I went shopping too! I spent much money in Downtown Seattle, at the Mall in Seattle and so on. The trip was only 3 days long, but I realized 2 interesting things!
First, I noticed American people are very kind to the environment. When I paid money for something I bought, the clerks often say "do you need a bag?" If I need it, I must pay extra money. It was not so expensive, about 5 cents to 25 cents. What a good idea! In Japan, clerks don't ask me if I need a bag or not. Even if the things I bought were pretty small, the clerk would put it into a bag in Japan. This is wasteful. However I had a chance to refuse bags if I don't need one on this trip. I thought American people are eco-minded.

This is not a statue! |
Second, street performances in Seattle at Pike Place Market are interesting. I could see a lot of performances, such as guitar, piano, cello, and chorus. Above all, I enjoyed seeing a lady who imitated a blond statue. She was moving very slowly without changing her expression. Also I noticed a man who was playing the guitar and doing hula hoop at the same time. He was funny. My friends and I laughed a lot. In Japan, speaking of street performances, instruments are very common. However there is a variety, and these are very entertaining. That made me happy.
I learned and experienced many things on this trip. During the trip I was busy because I went to a number of places. I was tired but it will be one of my unforgettable memories in America.

I think Japanese people have to work for the environment more!
